With a reputation as a grandmaster of the erotic camera, Roy Stuart has exhibited his work in numerous galleries throughout the world. He has published five best-sellers with Taschen and sold more then 500.000 copies. His latest book 'Roy Stuart V' is also published by Taschen. Expanding his expertise beyond still photography, Roy's artistic and creative sense is also apparent in his cult-classic Glimpse videos. Also to his credit is his first feature film, entitled Giulia (1999), produced by Tinto-Brass. And his long awaited full- length feature film The Lost Door is now released on dvd.

Roy Stuart - Breaking boundaries

Roy Stuart, an American photographer who resides in Paris, has earned his well-deserved international recognition through his originality, willingness to break the rules, inspired irreverence and ongoing criticism of our stale, incompetent sexuality.

In “The Lost Door”, Stuart clearly distances himself from his photographic and video work hitherto. Roy Stuart deliberately avoids all pornographic cliché. Instead, he explores an eroticism that seeks to undermine the basic notions we have of sexual relationships, whilst at the same time unleashing our imagination and restoring sexuality to its rightful place in our psyches.
